66% of our funding comes from the generosity of individuals, churches, civic and military groups and businesses along with sales and recycling of donated items. The remainder comes from government funding.
Ways You can Give
Prayer - You are instrumental in the ministry's stability and success. Please consider becoming a member of our prayer team. We'll keep you updated about our needs and answers to prayer.
Gifts of Cash - Your tax-deductible financial gifts keep Good Samaritan Resource Center going 365 days a year. No matter what the amount, you'll help feed and clothe the disadvantaged in our community and restore the lives of battered women and children.
Material Gifts - Your donations of food, new or gently-used clothing, personal care and baby supplies, furniture and household goods provide for your neighbors in need. Donated vehicles help provide transportation for women reentering the job market, too! Proceeds received from your donations to Good Samaritan's thrift store help make Genesis, our domestic violence shelter, possible and keep the food pantry stocked to feed the hungry. We'll issue a tax receipt for your gifts, you determine the value.
Planned Gifts - Prayerfully consider making a planned gift to Good Samaritan through a bequest. Then meet with your attorney to discuss and update your will. When you make a planned gift to Good Samaritan, you provide funds that will bring rescue and restoration to the hungry and hurting for years to come. Remember, always talk to your tax advisor, financial planner or attorney before making a planned gift.
Volunteerism - Volunteers help stretch our staff's resources and provide important support services for those who come to us for help. Call Shirley Mitchell at (573)774-5113 at the resource center or shelter manager, Patricia Fair-Barnes at (573)774-4040 to find out how you can help.
We can only meet the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of the hungry and hurting in our community with your compassionate help.
